Feature Assignment

A performer’s creative life exists in two halves, shifting from the raw, chaotic energy of an underground punk show to the quiet, disciplined isolation of a warehouse studio.

To depict this balance, I paired motion-heavy performance shots of a live basement set with low-key, isolated portraits of the artist hand-building instruments, tracking the sharp transition from public performer to private craftsman.

Natural Light Portrait Assignment

An artist's environment and choice of medium heavily influence their mindset, shifting from the forgiving freedom of casual watercolors on a sunny balcony to the rigorous concentration of oil painting in a secluded courtyard.

To depict this balance, I paired bright, open portraits of personal decompression with shadowed, high-focus close-ups of the technical craft, utilizing changing natural light to track the subject’s evolution from perfectionism to creative relief.

As a storyteller, I strive to fully capture the collective power of a room. When documenting grassroots activism, the ultimate goal is to show how individuals connect over shared ethical values.

Fostering a sense of mutual support is a collaborative effort, and people look for spaces where they feel heard. Therefore, it’s essential to approach the participants with deep empathy and respect.

Photographing a crowded studio of strangers turning into a unified support network was a beautiful challenge, and I've incorporated this lens into my approach as I continue to grow as a community-focused journalist.

Final Feature Website

A multimedia profile relies on a seamless blend of spaces, shifting from the intimate reality of a candidate’s backyard to the high-stakes energy of street-level politics.

To bring this to life on the screen, I designed a web experience pairing warm family imagery and digital video with candid sidewalk interactions, utilizing a scannable layout to track the candidate's transition from an everyday citizen into a political underdog.
